This community cookbook is a place where we remember and celebrate great cooks. We share dishes prepared in varied regions by cooks from diverse ethnic backgrounds hoping that as we exchange our family heirlooms, and learn more about each other, we also develop an appreciation for what makes us different and alike.
Still serving a dish that a family loved one used to make?
You are invited to create a loving tribute to that special someone and the dish that brings you two together, whether your ancestor was a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or distant cousin.
How it Works
Tell Us About You
Follow the prompts in our questionnaire. The questions start out easy, asking for your name and contact information, as well as some basic information about your ancestor cook.
Travel Back in Time
Take time to remember. Re-live the past, sifting through memories of family gatherings at the table, telling us a little bit about your dish.
Come Back and See Us
Once your ancestor is memorialized here, we hope that you will return to the site often to explore the stories, foods and cultures shared at this public kitchen table.
